GREENVILLE – Teressa Diane Mayes, 57, of Greenville passed away Monday, December 1, 2025 at Baptist Health Deaconess Hospital in Madisonville. Born in Greenville March 6, 1968, the daughter of O P Sweeney and Pauline Lear Sweeney. She was a bookkeeper and had been employed by Pate & Company in Central City. She was a member of Olive Grove Baptist Church and she enjoyed knitting and cooking,
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Glendal Sweeney and a sister Rita Yarbrough.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 5 at 1:00 p.m. at Olive Grove General Baptist Church in Greenville, conducted by Bro. Bradley Brown and Bro. Richard Day. Burial will follow in Olive Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Greg Mayes of Greenville; son, Joshua Lee Mayes of Nortonville; daughter, Terahyn Myshall Mayes of Greenville; two granddaughters; brother, Kerry (Eveleen) Sweeney of Clifty; three sisters, Shirley Sweeney of Glasgow, Brenda Rolley of Greenville and Donna Mefford of Belton.
Visitation will be held after 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 5 at Olive Grove General Baptist Church until time of funeral at 1:00 p.m.
