Mr. Stevie Anderson Powell, 71, of Clifty passed away Thursday June 8, 2023 as a result of an automobile accident. Born August 25, 1951 in Muhlenberg County, he was retired from Logan Aluminum and was owner operator of Genesis Nursery and farming. He was a graduate of Electronic Institute of Louisville with an Associates Degree. Mr. Powell was a member of Trinity General Baptist Church where he was a Trustee, and a member of the Clifty Antique Tractor Club. He was preceded in death by his parents Eulis William Powell and Doris Irene Melton Powell.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years Brenda Powell of Clifty; sons Andy Powell and Bradley Powell of Clifty; daughter Shannon Ray of Clifty; sisters Wanda Johnston and Darlene Groves of Clifty; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday June 13, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton with Rev. Autry Moore and Mr. Randall Powell officiating. Burial will follow in the Heltsley Cemetery in Clifty. Visitation will be Monday June 12, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and after 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m at the funeral home.
