Stanley Ray Vance

DRAKESBORO – Stanley Ray Vance, of Drakesboro, was born July 17, 1970 in Daviess County. He was taken away from us too soon on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. He was 54 years old.

Stanley was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, known for his humor, generosity, ingenuity, and boldness. He was a pillar of strength and support for his family and a source of inspiration to many.

Stanley’s passion for life was evident in everything he did. He was part of the graduating class of 1988 McLean County High School Cougars. He was a Navy veteran and had worked as a heavy equipment operator with Gaddis and Sons Construction Co. for many years and was currently employed with the Local 181 as an operating engineer. He was a true-blue UK basketball fan. He bled blue and loved watching them play on TV and was blessed to have a few opportunities to go to some home games. He enjoyed his quality time spent with his wife, and family rather traveling or just hanging at their little home of paradise, he enjoyed playing pool, playing video games, and working with his hands, whether that be home repair or a new creative project.

Survivors include the love of his life, his wife, Tina Vance; children, Whitney Miller (Adrian), Morgan Russ (Spencer), Zachary Vance (Breanna) and Laycee Vance; bonus-children, Chase Evans (Chelsey) and Brandi McCarthy (Jared); mother and father in law, Tom & Nancy Ater; mother, Janice Halstead; brother, Micheal Cox; and grandchildren, Skylar and Damian; bonus grandchildren, Cheyenne, Cadmen, Madison and Dalton; fur babies, Ruby and Timber; and many nieces and nephews along with numerous friends who will remember him fondly. Stanley was preceded in death by grandparents Wesley and Marion Vance.
