Ft. Myers, FL – Sharon G. Staton, formerly of Muhlenberg. Passed away on August 20th, 2026.
She was born in Evansville, IN on November 6th, 1947. She retired from the Ritz-Carlton, Naples, FL opening the first “in house” florist there. She had formerly owned, and operated Sharon’s House of Flowers in Greenville. She was of the Christian faith. She was proceeded in death by her parents Carl L. and Margaret Abshire; her grandparents; sister Virgina (Sam) Bowman; brothers Carl Richard, and David Anthony “Tony” Abshire; and nephew Richard Adam Kipling.
She is survived by her son and daughter- in-law Darren (Nolynn) Yonts; grandson Tyler Yonts; great-grandson Selvin and his mom Nancy Yonts; sisters Linda Abshire, and Donna Abshire Shepherd; brother John Michael (Peggy) Abshire; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A special thank you to her loving caregivers, The Campos- Quintanilla family. A celebration of life will be held at Holly Js conference room Saturday, September 12th from 4-6pm. All family, friends, and the Muhlenberg Central Class of 1965 are invited.
