Greenville- Sharon Bard, 72 , passed away at Baptist East Health Hospital Monday August 12, 2024 in Louisville, with her family by her side. Born February 7, 1952 in Greenville to James William and Jessie Elizabeth Shelton.
Sharon was a faithful member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville where she served in the following capacities; Former President, Vice President, Secretary and Assistant Treasurer of the Matrons Mission Ministry; Previous Assistant Treasurer of the church; A Member of the Board of Trustees; Sang Praises in the Church Choir and Assisted in the Culinary Department. In addition, Sharon also sustained a deep devotion as a Member of Circle # 5.
Sharon spent her days and evenings serving her family as a housewife and caregiver. She had an open-door policy. Everyone was welcomed into her home and she freely gave them whatever they needed.
Loved ones preceding her in death, husband, Tom Bard, parents, James and Jessie Shelton; son, Tom Bard, Jr. (TJ) , daughter, Tonia Bard, and sister Carolyn Ann Tidwell.
Survivors include her daughter, Sonia Conner (Russell); son, Ryan Bard (Stephanie), Louisville, ; grandchildren: Jessica Bard, Kyran Riley (Caroline), Charmaine Keys, Nyra Bard, Nicee Conner, Ryan and Rylee Bard; great-grandchildren: Tom James, Avianna, and Aniyah; sister: Valarie Curry, Louisville, KY; brothers, James Shelton, (Shirley) Chicago, IL, Hylan Shelton, Greg Shelton (Brenda), Louisville, KY and Steve Shelton; sister-in-laws: Celastine Bard, and Orale Parker, brother-in-law: Wendell Bard; uncle Wilbur Frazier, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held, Tuesday, August 20th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. with services to follow, 1:00 p.m., at First Missionary Baptist Church, 209 Oak Street, Greenville. Burial will be in West End Cemetery, Greenville, KY, 42345. Rev. Terrence Minor, Eulogist and Rev. John Lee III, Officiating.
