It is with great sorrow that we share that our beloved sister Beth Wilson passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at the age of 63, after a battle with pneumonia complicated by Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome. Beth was a long-time employee with the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet, serving in positions in the Division of Abandoned Mine Lands and the Reclamation Guaranty Fund Commission.
Sara Beth Wilson was born August 5, 1961, in Vincennes, Indiana to Franklin D. Wilson and Carolyn Joyce Martin Wilson. She grew up on the family farm in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky, where she developed a love of horseback riding, and graduated from Greenville Independent High School. She was a graduate of Owensboro Business College, and before moving to Frankfort worked in various administrative and sales positions. After the end of her 13-year marriage, she began working for Dillard’s selling the Estee Lauder Companies product lines, at their stores in Overland Park, Kansas, Nashville, Tennessee, Louisville and Lexington, Kentucky.
Beth is survived by her siblings, Jan (Russ) Wright, Frankfort, Chad (Letty) Wilson, Spring, TX, Amy Norville, Marianna, FL, and Kate (Brent) Higgs, Frankfort. She was the Cool Aunt, always ready to be a partner in fun or keep a secret, to nephews and nieces, Wil (Sarah) Rhodes, William (Berna Demiray) Wright, Lauren (James) Faix, Lyndsay (Devin Jacoviello) Wilson, Matthew (Kelsey) Norville, Ashley (Justin Conley) Norville, Ali (Colby) Myers, and Grace (Blake) Boyd. And great aunt to Caroline, Charlotte & Thomas Rhodes, Henry Faix, Seraphina Conley-Norville, Stella Mae Myers, and Aylin, Emre, and Semra Demiray-Wright.
Beth was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Joyce Wilson and a brother-in-law, Jeff Norville.
Overcoming many health challenges, Beth saw riding and caring for her horse as healing and therapeutic. To help others have that opportunity, donations may be made in her memory to Central Kentucky Riding for Hope, Horses Healing People.at CKRH.org. Mailing address CKRH, P.O.
