CENTRAL CITY – Sandra “Sandy” Jean Wilson, 65, of Central City passed away Sunday, February 2, 2025 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Ind. Born in Muhlenberg County on December 18, 1959 to Carl Whitmer and Macie Sloan Whitmer. She was of the Baptist faith. She loved having family get-togethers and yard sales, and planting flowers. She was preceded in death by her precious daughter, Alisha Marie Wilson; parents, Carl Whitmer, and Macie Sloan Whitmer; brothers, Tony Whitmer, and Wayne Whitmer; aunt, Clara Mae Strozewski; and grandparents, Norman Sloan, and Daisy Sloan.
Survivors include her husband, Leroy Wilson of Central City; son, Jason Wilson of Central city; two grandchildren; sister, Tabby Hester of Greenville; brothers, Jeff Whitmer of Bremen, Greg Whitmer of Central City; and several nieces and nephews; three special friends she cherished, Devonia Jernigan, Susie Willoughby, and Marilyn Vick.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with James Hester officiating. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
