CENTRAL CITY – Russell Ray Drake, 90, of Central City, died Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 11:45 a.m. at Maple Health and Rehab in Greenville. Born July 6, 1935, in Muhlenberg County. He was a faithful member of Belton Pentecostal Church. He was a coal miner, working for P & M Coal Mines as an underground pinner, loader, and diesel mechanic. In addition to working in the coal mines, he worked in a bakery in Louisville for 12 years. Mr. Drake loved to work on collectible cars. He was a mechanic and also enjoyed working on lawnmowers. He was preceded in death by his father, Martin B. Drake; mother, Minnie Jones Drake; and daughter, Kathy G. Stevens.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel Genevive Miller Drake; sons, Danny Drake, Marty Drake, and Rusty Drake; daughters, Stephanie Wagoner and Kimberly Fleming; 13 grandchildren; sister, Mary Lee Schroader; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 19, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Mike Foster officiating, assisted by Rev. Christopher Fleming.
