BREMEN – Russell Olen Proctor, 88, of Bremen, died Friday, January 31, 2025, at 9:38 p.m. at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Born March 4, 1936, in Logan County. He was a mechanic at Proctor Exxon Gas Station, and was of the Baptist faith and also a U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, watching old westerns (especially Gunsmoke), and listening to country music. He loved to bowl in his younger days, and he enjoyed dancing.
He was preceded in death by his son, Tony Proctor; brother, Charles D. Proctor; sister, Wanda Lou Carnell; half-sister, Linda Proctor; first wife, Mary Ezma Wydick Proctor; and second wife, Charlotte K. Proctor.
Survivors include his daughter, Althea Ray Blandford; son, Joey Lynn Proctor, Sr.; caregiver, Betty Gunterman, and her children, Terry A. Morris, Peggy L. Miller, Douglas Morris, Billy Morris, and Bobby Morris, who all loved and cared for him for over 15 years; step-children, Lynn Doss, Jeff Bratcher, Sherry Craig, Rhonda Bratcher, and Tina Pointer; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Leroy Rearden officiating, assisted by Bruce Durall.
