ROCKPORT- Roger Neal Johnson, 80, of Rockport died Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Signature Healthcare of Hartford. Mr. Johnson was born in Muhlenberg County on March 18, 1946. He was a former sawmill worker and a member of Taylor Mine Baptist Church. Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by his wife, Edna Johnson, two sisters, Judy Gail Slaughter and Emily Darlene Monroe.
Survivors include his children, Tina (Jason) Shown, Barry (Tina) Johnson; grandchildren, Tommy Brown, Jacqueline Shown; great grandchildren, Hazel and Kinsley Alexander; nephew, Troy Smith; brother-in-law, Robert Monroe.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 30, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with Rev. Winferd Burden and Rev. David Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Mud River Union Cemetery in Belton. Visitation will be held Monday, March 30, 2026 beginning at 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
