CUNMOR – Rhoda Virginia James, 97 of Dunmor, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at her residence in Dunmor.
Born Sunday, January 29, 1928, the daughter of the late Murrel McPherson, Sr. and the late Althna Gossett McPherson. She was the wife of the late Harry James.
She was a dedicated, loving wife and mother and loved by all who knew her. She was also a homemaker and a member of Penrod Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Hicks of Houston, Tex.; three sons, Michael James of Huntsville, Ala., David James of Ankeny, Iowa, Steve James of Louisville; ten grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild
She was preceded in death by all of her siblings: sisters Willie Corley, Clara Baker, and Charlotte Bryant; brothers Cecil McPherson, John McPherson, and Murrel McPherson, Jr.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Penrod Baptist Church located at 778 State Route 949, Dunmor, KY 42339; with Bro. Jerry Winters officiating. Private interment will be in James Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 21 at Price Funeral Home, Inc., located at 252 E. Green Street, Lewisburg, KY 42256. There will also be visitation from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church.
