GREENVILLE – Ray Carroll Scott, 83, of Greenville, KY passed away on Sunday, April 5th, 2026 at his residence. He was born in Greenville, KY on September 22nd, 1942, the son of the late Houston Ellis Scott and Christine Elizabeth Herring Scott. He was a member of Vernal Grove Baptist Church. Ray spent many years working as a coal miner with C & S Coal Corporation and retired from there. In addition to his time in the mines, he was a lifelong farmer. He also enjoyed riding his Harley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Anthony Scott and Corey Scott, and one sister, Elizabeth Ann Oldham.

Funeral services will be held at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY on Thursday, April 9th, 2026 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jerry Eades. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in White Plains, KY.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years — Doris Fay Scott of Greenville, KY;

                                              Three sons — Troy (Katlyn) Scott of Hopkinsville, KY,

                                                                       Chad Scott of Greenville, KY,

                                                                       Cody Scott of Greenville, KY,

                                        One daughter — Chandra Scott of Earlington, KY;

                                       Six grandchildren; 

                                       Five great grandchildren. 

Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, April 9th 2026 at Gary’s Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM.
