CENTRAL CITY – Rachel B. Rhodes, 84, of Central City, died Monday, April 8, 2024 at 3:41 a.m. at her residence. Born June 26, 1939 in Moorman, she was a Homemaker and a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Rhodes cherished time with family especially her grandsons. She loved family get-togethers. She was an excellent cook; fried chicken and macaroni and cheese were crowd favorites. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Irene Bullock; husband, Carl Rhodes who passed away on December 19, 2018; and brothers, Clark Bullock, Billy Bullock, Eddie Bullock, and Hollis Bullock. As Rachel reunites with her loved ones who have gone before her, may she rest in eternal peace.
Survivors include her daughters, Julie Daugherty of Moorman, Donna Harris, and Carol Lynn (Askins of Moorman; four grandsons; five great-grandchildren; brother, Gearld Bullock; sister, Sue Geary; half-sister, Mary Arnold; step-sister, Luticia Koper; and sister-in-law, Lois Bullock.
Funeral services are Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Gary Taylor officiating. Burial in New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
