Paula Denise Harkins, 62, of Graham, passed away Friday, July 2, 2021 at her home surrounded by loved ones. Born October 28, 1958 to Charles and Pauline Chaney. She attended Corley Chapel Church. She retired from the Muhlenberg County Board of Education after over 25 years of service. Ms. Paula sure loved all of the kids over the many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers Charles Wayne and Eddie Chaney; a sister Shelia Sparks; two nephews Jarrod Sparks and Joe Brandon Carr; one niece Jessica Foster; four brothers-in-law Junior Harkins, Jerry Fleming, Charles Jernigan, and Joe Carr; and a sister-in-law Ann Bethel.
Survivors include her soul mate and beloved husband of 47 years, Michael Harkins; daughter, Kara (Marc) Erickson; son, Andrew Harkins; her pride and joy, a grandson Jack Erickson; brother-in-law, Sammy (Teresa) Harkins; sisters-in-law, Judy Chaney, Elsie Fleming, Sue Jernigan, Becky Harkins, Sherri (Jerry) Oates, Linda Carr, Mary (David) Greene, and Shelia Foster; aunt, Winnie Gossett; uncle, Bobby Chaney; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins. She had four special lifelong friends: Alisa, Barb, Karon, and Sandra. The family would like to give special thanks to Baptist Health Hospice for excellent care.
There will be no visitation or service. Gary’s Funeral Home is entrusted with her care. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Paula Harkins Funeral Expenses Fund via FB fundraiser, Venmo, Paypal, or Cashapp.
