DRAKESBORO – Oscar Lee Allen, Jr., age 60, died Friday, November 22, 2024, at his residence in Drakesboro, surrounded by family that loved him. Born in Hartford, on May 27, 1964, to Oscar Allen, Sr. and Mary Margaret Allen. He attended Drakesboro High School and graduated in 1985. He met the love of his life in 1989, and they were married on January 3, 1994. Oscar loved his children, and they loved him. He enjoyed watching the Kentucky Wildcat basketball team and loved to hunt and fish. Oscar was a retired boilermaker from Local #374 and was a member of Life and Praise Apostolic Church. He met many friends in his years working with the company and loved to tell stories about them. He never met a stranger, and he could talk for hours. He would do anything for anyone, and loved to make people laugh. He is preceded in death by his father, his mother, and his nephew, Eddie Lee Brake.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Teresa Holland Allen; his children Kristi Zick, Kayla Gish, Oscar Allen, III, and Ashley Lynch; 12 grandchildren; sister Mary Brake; brother Tex Allen, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Tucker Funeral Home with Bro. Scottie Brooks officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
