GREENVILLE – Opaleen “Opie” Norris Sparks, 84, of Greenville, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 4:43 a.m. at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Born July 27, 1940, in Graham. She was a homemaker and lifelong member of East Union Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Winford Sparks; parents, Urey and Beulah Norris; daughter, Kimberly Lee Sparks; brothers, James Robert Norris and Paul Norris; sister, Corrine Sparks; and twin sister, Kathleen Nicotera.
Survivors include her son, Doyle Wayne (Luann) Sparks of Greenville; daughter, Lisa Gaye (David) Pentecost of Greenville; grandchildren, Jessica Lauren (Hays) Browning of Greenville, Rachel Morgan (Wes) McDonald of Greenville, and Schyler Alexandria (Dr. Luke) Gaskin of Searcy, Ark.; and great-grandchildren, Brady Hays Browning, Bailey Ann Browning, Kate Wesley McDonald, and Jansen Tate Gaskin.
