CENTRAL CITY – Norman Jewel Logsdon, 89, of Central City, KY, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 3:12 p.m. at Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville, surrounded by his loving family. Born February 23, 1936 in Cleaton, the son of John and Liller Logsdon. He graduated from Drakesboro High School in 1954 and joined the Army Branch of the Military in 1958, and served until honorably discharged in 1960. Norman married, the love of his life, Ruth Ann Adkins on May 12, 1968 in Madisonville. He worked at Royal Crown Bottling Company for 39 years and retired in 2007. Norman loved his family, he enjoyed gardening, working with wood, crossword puzzles, Sudoku and the Kentucky Wildcats, was a member of Trinity Pentecostal Church, and served as a board member for many years. He was preceded in death are parents, John and Liller Logsdon; sisters, Wauneta Todd and Willodean Robinson; and nephew, Lindell Todd. In Laws, Willard and Norma Adkins.
Survivors include his wife Ruth Ann; his like-children, Joanie (Steve) Cobb of Moody, Ala., Leigh Ann (David) Jackson of Madisonville, Carrie (BJ) Davis of Wimauma, Fla. and Clay (Jorge) Noe of Atlanta, Ga. He was Papaw to seven grandchildren, Lyndsey (Kyle) Bailey, Makensey Haupt, Jordan Jackson, Copeland (Elise) Davis, Conner Davis, Chloe Jackson and Emma Catherine (Jordan) Clark; six great-grandchildren, Liam, Rhodes, Wilder, Parker, Ruby and Lena. Brothers, Connis (Mae) Logsdon and Owen Logsdon; sister, Vivian Carlton. Brother-in-law, Glenn Adkins, sister-in-law, Linda (Jerry) Noe. Nieces, Brenda Foley, Marilyn Woodruff, Tonya Bower, Lori Dossett and step-niece, Angie Stovall; and nephews, Danny Jones and Terry Logsdon; and many great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 12 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Pastor Alan Harris officiating, assisted by Bro. David Jackson. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Jordan Jackson, Copeland Davis, Jordan Clark, Glenn Thompson, Jon Thompson, Caleb Vincent, Ryan Vincent and Carson Vincent. In lieu of flowers, in Norman’s memory, may be directed to Gideons International or Trinity Pentecostal Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
