GREENVILE – Nathan Randall Johnson, 47, of Greenville, better known to most as “Grease Monkey” officially clocked out for the last time on February 10, 2026.  Born October 9, 1978, Nathan didn’t just live life, he revved it.  If Heaven had squeaky gates, they don’t anymore.  If there were engines that wouldn’t start, they’re running now.  And if there’s a motorcycle up there, we’re sure he’s already taken it for a ride.

He loved motorcycles, semis, guns, loud engines, and probably giving his opinion about all of them whether you asked or not.  The garage was his happy place.  His hands were permanently stained with grease, and honestly, he wore it like a badge of honor.  He believed in horsepower, hard work, and doing things his own way.  But behind the nickname, the noise, and the rough edges was something softer, a dad who loved his kids more than anything.  Being a father was his proudest title.  He loved spending time with his children, teaching them things (sometimes the hard way), making memories, and showing up in the only way he knew how, strong, protective, and real.

His three children, Hunter Johnson, Whitney Johnson, and Jase Johnson, were his greatest build.  His favorite investment. His whole heart.

Nathan was preceded in death by his mother, Lisa Johnson; and his grandparents, Waymon and Willow Jarvis, and Herb and Jean Johnson.

In addition to his children, he is survived by his father, Randall (Shelia) Johnson; his siblings, Donica (Les) Woodson, Derek (Kennya) Gill, Brandon (Kelli) Johnson, Tamara (Monty) Golden, and Robb Johnson, along with many extended family members and friends who knew that if something was broken, Nathan would at least try to fix it (and probably talk about how he would’ve built it better).

We’ll miss the sound of his voice, the smell of the garage, and the way he could fix just about anything.  But we’ll carry his love, his lessons, and maybe even a little bit of that stubbornness with us forever.  Ride loud up there, Grease Monkey.  We know you wouldn’t have it any other way.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 12:00 noon at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Greg Brooks officiating.  Visitation will be Tuesday beginning at 10:00AM at the funeral home.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Nathan Johnson Memorial Fund, c/o Tucker Funeral Home, P.O. Box 548, Central City, KY  42330 or online at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.  Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
