GREENVILLE – Nancy Courtney Countzler, 91, of Greenville passed away Friday, September 22, 2023 at her home surrounded by family. She was born in Muhlenberg County on September 5, 1932 the only daughter of Orville Dempsey Courtney and Opal Todd Courtney. She was a member of Greenville United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and self-employed art instructor. She enjoyed drawing, painting, riding horses, camping, playing the dulcimer, making greeting cards, and most of all spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Reginald Powell Countzler.
Survivors include her daughters Stacy Warren and Suzie (Richard Piper) Countzler, several grandchildren Cathy (Mark) Wagoner, John (Sandy) Countzler, Anne (David) McKnight, Brooke (Max) Saeman, Blair Warren, Elyse Warren, Brittany (Matthew) Griffitt, and Beau Piper, and several great grandchildren Christy Demarzo, Beth Morrow, Katie Watkins, Sarah Woodward, Shawn Wagoner, Samantha Saeman and Lydia Griffitt.
Funeral services will be Monday, September 25, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Greenville United Methodist Church with Reverend Steven Neel and Katie Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville. Gary’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
