ISLAND – Myrtle Marie Douglas, 92, of Island, died Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at 9:25 a.m. at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville. Born December 28, 1932 in Island. She was a Homemaker and a member of Voice of the Lord Tabernacle. She loved to watch Westerns and true crime TV shows. She enjoyed her family, especially all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was a great cook. She loved spending time with her church and worshiping her Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Douglas; parents, Hamilton and Goldie Johnson; five brothers; one sister, and daughters, Rennie Fugerson, Nancy Willis, and Tonya Shocklee.
Survivors incude her daughters, Wanda Critser of Princeton, and Carolyn Ralph of Luna Pier, Mich.; and sons, Billy Douglas of Livermore, and Rodney Howell of Island; nine grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brother, Tommy Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 6, 2025 at 12 p.m. at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento with Billy Douglas officiating. Burial in Island Baptist Cemetery.
