CLIFTY – Wendell Earl Sears, 81, of Clifty, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville, of natural causes. Born June 27, 1940 in Todd County. He was retired Floor Supervisor for Wetterau in Greenville, a member of Elkton Road Church of Christ in Greenville and the Masonic Lodge in Greenville. He loved woodworking, puzzles, raising donkeys and his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren Guy and Gola Missy Settle Sears, his wife, Melvia Dean Hightower Sears; brothers, Shelby Sears, James Sears and Clayton Sears; sisters, Sylvia Latham, Malta Moore and Ermie Sears; grandson, Matthew Stanley.
Survivors include his daughters, Kimberly Ingram of Clifty and Danita (Troy) Hilburn of Clifty; brother, Edward Sears of Shepherdsville; sisters Patie Edwards of Clifty; grandchildren, Jennifer Farber, Jessica Williams, Tori Hilburn and Megan Harbold; eight great grandchildren.
Services will be Monday, September 6, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Sweeney officiating. The services will be live-stream at lathamfuneralhome.com. Burial will follow in the Stokes Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home.
