Mildred Lee Welborn

CENTRAL CITY – Resolute and unwavering in faith and belief in her Savior Christ Jesus, Mildred Lee Welborn, Micky, was transformed from an earthly existence of 92 years to a heavenly home of joy, peace, happiness, and communion with God on January 29, 2026.

She never asked or questioned God’s will in her life; instead, she prayed thanksgiving for his presence during difficult and joyous times.  This diminutive, petite woman possessed a super power, prayer; not fancy words, not grand phrases or language, but simple conversations with her Savior throughout each day, where she would talk and then quietly listen for his answer as she lifted up the needs of family, friends, her Church Temple Baptist, community, and all who stood in need.  She never asked anything for herself, instead always ending her conversations rejoicing in knowing God heard her pleas and giving thanks for all that is given.  She never doubted that an answer would come, always knowing God’s will would unfold.  Her life will always be remembered as a devoted servant of Christ, a devoted member of Temple Baptist Church, and a power house of prayer, love, and dedication to her family.

She was born in Butler County, Kentucky to the Christian home of Nancy (Hammers) and Clyde Christie together with her siblings, Anna Lou, Hazel, Henry, Calvin, Jack, and Lucy (died at birth), all of which have passed and been redeemed in heaven’s glory.  She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde Brown, Jr.; her second husband, “Buster” Irvin Welborn; her son, Terry Brown, Sr.; step-son, Terry Welborn; and great-great-granddaughter, Bailey Brown.

Many are left to celebrate her life:  her sons, Gary (Terri) Brown and Roger (Sharon) Brown; step-children, Wayne Welborn and Brenda (Ralph) Mayes; numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and great-great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins remain to remember a life well-lived.
