Mildred Groves Yates, 94, of White Plains, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Hillside Nursing Home in Madisonville. Born December 27, 1926 in Muhlenberg County, the daughter of Harvey Groves and Lonnie Wells Groves. She was a member of the Church of Christ of White Plains. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul Yates, and brothers Harold Groves, Lee Groves, Milton Groves and Bernie Groves.
Survived include her children, Billy Yates and Jane Martin of both of White Plains; sister, Mary Taylor of Henderson; three grandchildren; ten great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, with Rev. Byron Groves officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in White Plains.Visitation will be from at 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville.
