CENTRAL CITY- Mary Lou Anderson, age 90, of Central City, went home to be with her Savior November 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and faithful servant of the Lord, she lived each day with purpose, grace, and a heart full of love for others.
Mary shared her God-given talents generously. Through her business, Special Cakes For Special People, she poured her creativity, care, and faith into every cake she made, each one a sweet reflection of her belief that everyone is special in God’s eyes.
Her faith was steadfast and unshakable. She served faithfully at Belton Pentecostal Church and throughout her community with humility and joy, always finding ways, both big and small, to bless those around her. Whether through her words, her prayers, or her acts of kindness, Mary carried the light of Christ wherever she went.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ezra and Carie Miller; two sons, Hershel Franklin Anderson and Michael Anderson; and her sister, Helen Bailey.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 73 years, Hershel Anderson; two daughters, Brenda (Johnny) Stratton and Annette (Marvin) Stratton; seven grandchildren, Joshua Vick, Kristy Vick-Stratton, Julie (Patrick) Bowles, Benjamin (Andrea) Anderson, Bethany (Bo) Ritchie, Jonathan Anderson, and Douglas (Makenzi) Stratton; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters Rachel Drake and Leona (Michael) Foster; and several nieces and nephews, all of whom will forever cherish her example of faith, devotion, and unconditional love.
Mary’s life was a testimony to the sweetness of God’s goodness. Her hands created beauty, her heart extended grace, and her spirit shone with the peace that comes from walking closely with the Lord. Though she has entered her heavenly home, her love and legacy will continue to bless all who knew her.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with visitation prior to the service from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Bro. Mike Foster and Bro. Chris Fleming officiating.
