GREENVILLE – Mary Alice Noffsinger Wright Jennings, 91, of Greenville, went into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at 8:15 p.m. at Maple Nursing and Rehabilitation in Greenville. Born September 15, 1932, in Muhlenberg County, she was a woman of great faith and witnessed to everyone she met. Her family was everything to her. She was a proud member of New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as both a Sunday School teacher and piano player. Mrs. Jennings also worked for the Muhlenberg County Board of Education for over thirty years as a secretary. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of many years, Jewell Wright; second husband, Gordon Jennings; parents, William and Gertrude Noffsinger; and sister, Emogene Jarvis.
Survivors include her son, Keith (Taleah) Wright of Greenville; grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael) Benevides of Muncie, Ind. and Logan (Jessica) Wright of Reynolds Station; step-grandchildren, Joshua (Jamie) Seaver of Robards and Jared (Lisa) Seaver of Central City; sister, Martine Vick Vincent of Henderson; and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Jerry Eades officiating. Burial will follow in New Cypress Cemetery.
