GREENVILLE – Marvin Douglas Brooks, 81, of Greenville, died Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 9:48 p.m. at his residence. Born April 21, 1943 in Muhlenberg County. He was a member of Freedom Ministries Church and retired from working as a Janitor at Speed Queen in Madisonville. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, gardening, mowing, but mostly spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Buren Brooks; mother, Hilda Brooks; brothers, Waymon Brooks, and Milford Brooks; sister, Linda Garrett; two children, Danny Brooks, and Danielle Brooks, and grandchild, David Brooks Jr.
Survivors include his children, Douglas (Kathleen) Brooks, Darren (Sandy) Brooks, Pam (Dale) Dearmond, Kevin (Tomeca) Brooks, Ronnie (Mary) Brooks, David (Brandy) Brooks, and Kim (Kerry) Byrd; brother, Owen Dale (Bonnie) Brooks; 33 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; previous wife of 45 years, Pat Brooks; and sisters-in-law, Thelma Brooks, and Wilma Brooks.
Funeral services will be Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Rev. Ronnie Brooks officiating. Burial in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
