CLIFTY – Martha Jean Settle, 89, of Clifty, Ky. died October 30, 2025 at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Born in Clifty, September 22, 1936, the daughter of Ray Combs and Louise Rager Combs. She had worked as a supervisor at Emerson Electric for 37 years. She was of the Church of Christ faith, and she loved to quilt and sew and spend time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 50 years Howard Franklin Settle in 2004, a daughter Brenda Hobgood, a grandson Seth Settle, three brothers, and a sister.
Funeral services will be private with burial in Heltsley Cemetery in Clifty. Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a son, Howard David Settle of Cadiz, Ky.; two daughters, Rhonda Davis of Hopkinsville and Loretta Francis of Greenville; ten grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
There will be no visitation.
