GREENVILLE – Magaline Plyler Butler, 87, of Greenville, died Friday, June 13, 2025 at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. Born July 1, 1937 in Muhlenberg County. She was a member of Mercer Missionary Baptist Church and worked in the meat department at the Greenville IGA for 15 ½ years. When she was younger and well, she loved gardening and canning, working with flowers, and camping. She loved the Lord, going to church, and her family; especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Myrtle Higgins; brother, Gilbert Higgins; sisters, Mary Rowe, and Irene Powell; and grandson, Ryan Benson.
Survivors include her daughters, Shelia (Doug) Bassett of Greenville, Cindy Benson of Greenville, and Jeanette (Dwight) Moore of Calvert City; grandchildren, Renae Keeling of Henderson, and Michael Stewart of Calvert City; and great-grandchildren, Cory Lee of Washington D.C., Dylan Lee of Henderson, Braxton Benson of Greenville, and Brayden Stewart of Paducah; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday, June 16, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. J.W. Haire officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
