Luther Edward “Eddie” Tarrants, 77, of Greenville died on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. Born in Graham, the son of Wilbert Layton Tarrants and Johnie Irene Hall Tarrants. He retired after 22 years of service in the Army and the National Guard in 1994. He was a member of Roland Memorial Baptist Church and worked as a security guard at Wetterau and SuperValu for many years. He loved the Kentucky Wildcats and was an avid fan of the LA Dodgers. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Bobby Tarrants, Sr., and a sister Louise McGhee.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years Ann Tarrants of Greenville; sons, Tim (Carol) Tarrants, Sr. of Bremen, and Brian Tarrants, Sr of Greenville; daughter, Amy Beth Tarrants of Greenville; grandchildren, Brian Tarrants, Jr., Marissa Tarrants, Timmy Tarrants, Jr., Denver Lee Tarrants and Harley Kay Tarrants; brother, John (Leana) Tarrants of Carmi, Ill.; sister, Nancy Tarrants of Owensboro.
Funeral services will be Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Roger Heltsley officiating. Burial will follow in Carter Creek Cemetery in Greenville. Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, August 5 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville.
