Hammond Ind. – Loran Knight, 90, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2023. Loran enjoyed trading antiques and collectibles with friends, and attending flea markets and garage sales. He was a U.S Army Veteran of the Korean War in the tank division. He retired after 30 years of service at LTV Steel Corporation. Even though he moved here in the 1950’s he always considered Kentucky home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hannah, and daughter Beverly Rolland.
Survivors include two sons Jeff (Laura) Knight of Alabama, and Tim (Chrislin) Knight of Hammond Ind.; son-in-law David Rolland of Highland Ind.; brother Julian (Phyllis) Knight of Arkansas; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) from 9:00 am to 11:00 am with the funeral service immediately following. Brandon Knight officiated the ceremony. Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, Ind.
