GREENVILLE – Lois Evelyn Morehead, 94, of Greenville, died Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 12:13 p.m. at her residence. Born September 9, 1930, in Muhlenberg County. She was a cook at Maple Manor Nursing Home and the Pick and Shovel Restaurant, and was a member of Freedom Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, going to yard sales, sitting on her front porch, cooking, and her flowers.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Velma Moore; father, James Otis Moore; husband, Jack Morehead; brothers, Paul Moore, James Moore, and Franklin Moore; sisters, Margie Draper, Mary Day, Mildred Crick, Gladys Stanley, Helen Marie Moore, and Ruth Ann Moore; granddaughter, Melissa Cobb; and two great-granddaughters.
Survivors include her children, Carolyn (Duke) Underwood, Jewel (Charlie) Cotton, Brenda (Levon) Knight, Phyllis (Donnie) Cobb, and Linda Looney; brother, Robert (Chris) Moore; sister, Shirley Pendley; 16 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. J.W. Haire officiating, assisted by Bro. Tony Blake. Burial in New Cypress Cemetery.
