GREENVILLE—- Linda Lee Day, born in Greenville, August 11, 1948, peacefully passed away on October 19, 2024, at the age of 76.
A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Linda was known for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit. She dedicated her life to her family and friends, always putting others first and spreading joy wherever she went. Linda’s laughter was infectious, and her love for life inspired all who knew her.
Survivor include her loving husband John Day; her son John “Butch” (Sherri) Day; and her daughter, Lori Walker. She was a cherished grandmother “Non” to John Daniel (Sarah) Day, Ethan Day, and Audrey (Tommy) Sparks, and a proud great-grandmother to Lottie Mae and Millie Jean Day. She is also survived by her eldest sister, Barbara Gonzales, of Fort Myers, Fla. and her younger brother, Teddy (Sandy) Miller, of Greenville. In addition, she was a beloved aunt, great-aunt, and great-great-aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her father and mother, Daniel and Fannie Miller, and her older sister, Wilma Latham.
A dedicated member of Carter Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Linda served as a Sunday school teacher and preschool teacher for many years, sharing her love and faith with the younger generations. As a devout Chrisitan and prayer warrior, she deeply believed in the power of prayer and spent countless hours lifting others up in faith. Known for her big, giving heart, Linda found joy in helping others, whether through her many acts of kindness or her special ministry of sending cards to loved ones, always brightening their days.
Linda had a passion for cooking, gardening, and crafting, and she loved opening her home to others, welcoming friends and family with open arms. These activities brought her joy and allowed her to share her love with those around her.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at Carter Creek Missionary Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 23rd at 12:00 p.m. with Bro. John “Butch” Day III officiating and Bro. Tommy Wilhite assisting. Burial will follow in Carter Creek Church Cemetery in Greenville, KY.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 22nd from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Carter Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral at Carter Creek Missionary Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 23rd.
Linda’s love for life, family, and the Lord was evident in everything she did. Her spirit of joy, faith, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
