 LESTER COTTONGIM JR.       

Lester Cottongim Jr., 83, of Dunmor passed away on Saturday, March 21st, 2026 at his residence. He was born in Oneida, KY on March 10th, 1943, the son of Lester Cottongim Sr. and Minnie Beatrice Cottongim. He was a proud United States Army Veteran, a dedicated teacher and multi-sport coach, and an executive at Cowden for over 15 years. After retirement, he found great enjoyment in farming.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Glenn Cottongim.

Funeral services will be held at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY on Saturday, March 28th at 10:00 AM with Rev. Roger Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Old Jackson Cemetery in Greenville, KY.

He is survived by his wife of over 58 years — Lois Cottongim of Dunmor, KY;

                                                 Three children — Dr. Toni (Robert) Cottongim Kluck of Erlanger, KY;

                                                                                Tracy (Stacey) Courtney of Melber, KY;

                                                                                Brian Cottongim of Dunmor, KY;

                                      Eight Grandchildren — Robert (Brittany) Kluck, Erika Kluck, Connor (Halley) Kluck, Madeline Kluck, Matthew Kluck, Rebekah (Jimmy) Walters, Reid Courtney, and Rafe Courtney;

                            Four great grandchildren — Beatrixe, Ava, Eleanor, and Rosemary; 

                                                       One sister — Mary Nancy Gambrell of Lexington, KY; 

Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, March 27th, at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and after 9:00 AM until service time on Saturday March 28th.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Old Jackson Cemetery at 120 N Leighs Chapel Lane Greenville, KY 42345.
