SACRAMENTO – Larry Wayne Rose, 79, of Sacramento, KY passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at 9:15PM at his son’s home surrounded by his family. Larry was born September 10, 1946 to the late William and Dorothy Rose. Larry was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

Larry was a Millright at Green River Steel. He later became a Deputy Sheriff for the Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Department while also holding the title of Chief for the Bremen Fire Department. He became a Deputy Jailer under Willie Justice at the Muhlenberg County Detention Center where he retired in 2004.

Larry loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Larry loved to hunt, fish, camp, garden, and mow his yard.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Karen Gail Rose; his children, Jeffery Wayne (Rebecca) Rose of Madisonville, KY, Dewayne Rose of Bremen, KY, Michael (Dana) Rose of TN, and Shelia Shelton of Greenville, KY; his grandchildren, Hailey Jones, Rien Shelton, Lexie Rose, Brooklyn Rose, Rayleigh Rose, and Hunter Rose; and one sister, Donna (Terri) Wylie of Greenville, KY.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 30, 2026 at 11AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial in Unity Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-8PM and Monday after 8AM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
