GREENVILLE – Larry T. Evitts 83 of Greenville, died Sunday, December 28, 2025 in the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Born June 22, 1942 in Muhlenberg County the son of Brennan Evitts and Alliene Sullivan Evitts. He worked for Colonial Bread for over 30 years before his retirement, after his retirement he enjoyed fish fries with his friends, camping, spending time with his grandson and mowing the yard. He was a member of Duvall’s Chapel General Baptist Church. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Perry Wayne Evitts and sister, Betty Allen.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. from Duvall’s Chapel General Baptist Church by Reverend Gary Embry and assisted by Reverend Tony Evitts and Reverend Jerry Troutman, with burial to follow in Nebo Cemetery in Greenville. Gary’s Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Peggy Sue Mercer Evitts of Greenville; son, Marlin (Tracy) Evitts of Greenville; one grandson, Paxton Evitts of Greenville; sister, Judy (Jerry) Pendley of Greenville; two sister-In-laws, Paulette (David) Carver of Greenville and Linda Evitts of Greenville; several nieces and nephews .
Visitation will be Thursday, January 1, 2026 between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Duvall’s Chapel General Baptist Church and Friday, January 2, after 10:00 a,m, until service time. Online condolences to the family may be made at www.garysfuneralhome.net
