ADISONVILLE – Larry Christopher “Chris” Campbell, 58, of Madisonville, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville. Chris had a lifelong passion for muscle cars, including restoring them, Chris raced go-carts from 1982 to 1986. He loved boats, NASCAR, and most of all, his family and close friends. He was known for his strong work ethic and spent many years working in the coal mines, where he earned many nicknames and friendships along the way. He worked at Pyro, Hopkins County Coal, Dotiki, and Warrior Coal. He will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to his work, and his larger-than-life personality. He leaves behind many memories that will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
e was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Grace Campbell, Delores Ferrell, and his stepfather, Dan Clayton.
urvivors include his loving wife, Jennifer Campbell; three daughters, Amanda (Adam) Lugo, Caitlyn Campbell (Austin Eatmon) and Whitney Campbell; father, Larry (Janice) Campbell; mother, Betty Clayton (late Dan Clayton); sister, Christy (Kevin) Combs; step-brother Troy (Melissa) Nalley; Aunts, Linda Franklin and Jewell Wint; and several nieces and nephews as well as his beloved pets, Barkley and Teddy Bear.
uneral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home, Madisonville Chapel, with Pastor Tom Cantwell officiating. Burial will follow in Grapevine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Austin Eatmon, Adam Lugo, Markus Arnold, Troy Nalley, Alex Appleby, and Chuck Shockley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hopkins County Humane Society.
