Judy Ann Mayes, 71, of Madisonville died Saturday, May 10, 2025 at her residence surrounded by family. Born in Detroit, Mich. November 19, 1953, the daughter of Holly Gene Bray and Ilene Sword Bray. She had been a maintenance worker/painter for Regional Medical Center in Madisonville and was a member of Morton’s Gap Christian Church, and she loved horseback riding, camping, and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Jerry Bray and Kenneth Bray, and three nieces Alivia Serra, Carrianne Bray, and Amanda Bray.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 14 at 1:00 p.m. at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville conducted by Rev. Tony Evitts. Burial will follow at New Harmony-Bivins Cemetery in Tyewhoppety, Ky.
Survivors. include her husband of 19 years, Carl Mayes of Madisonville; two daughters, Jennifer Starks of Crofton and Paula Thompson of Central City; one son, John Ferguson of Owensboro; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two step- grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 14 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral at Gary’s Funeral Home.
