John Michael Dix of Belton, KY passed away Saturday March 13, 2021, at the age of 68. He fought hard through his battle with cancer and declining health until the end. He passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family, making sure he knew that he was loved very much.
Born January 13, 1953, in Illinois to father Jacques Dix and mother Patricia Dix. He retired from the Coast Guard which he served for about 30 years. He had passion for his job and his family, and of course passion for his gardening and taking care of the fish in his pond. There are many memories of him outside working on his pond to make it beautiful and his garden trying to figure out how to keep the deer from eating his plants and each memory is important. One thing he enjoyed doing was making stained glass with his late wife Judy Dix, they would sit in their workshop together making many beautiful works of art out of glass.
He has had many animals through out his life and would rescue animals he saw on the street that were hurt or just needed a home. He was a father and a grandfather and loved his children and grandchildren very much. This shows how much of a caring person he was, and knowing this makes his passing harder, but he will now be in heaven with his family and his late wife Judy. His friends and family that survived him love and miss him very much and will always be in our thoughts and prayers.
Memorial service will be at 2pm on April 16th, 2021, at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Depoy.
