CENTRAL CITY – John Louis LaGioia, 86, of Central City, passed away Friday, February 28, 2025, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville. Born in Chicago, Ill., August 6, 1938, to the late Louis and Marie LaGioia. He was a retired Police Sergent of Franklin Park, Ill., and was a member of the Church of God Prophecy. He was a faithful servant in his church, having served as a Deacon for approximately 40 years. He loved John Wayne movies, and was a fan of Kentucky Basketball, but the true love of his life was his darling grandchildren. John is preceded in death by both parents; and a grandson, Caleb Harvell.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Jane Devine LaGioia; his children, Lisa Harvell of Greenville, and Louis LaGioia of Central City; one grandson; sister, Maryann Gianoble; niece, Jackie Howe, as well as several other nieces and nephews; Sister-in-law, Patricia Lynn Devine; and Brother-in-law, Richard Devine.
