BEECHMONT – John Leroy Ellis, 72, of Beechmont, died Sunday, June 30, 2024 at his residence. Born June 6, 1952 in Kansas City, Kans. He was a Car Salesman for Pogue Automotive Group and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. John loved spending time with his family, whom he loved more than anything. He also had a passion for music. In the 70’s he played in the Bands, Soul Incorporated, Purple Haze and Hush. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, horses, and preparing gourmet meals. John was an avid salesman at heart. He had a witty sense of humor, and a genuine personality. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby Ellis, and Steven Ellis; and parents, Robert V. Ellis and Betty Lou Ellis.
Survivors include his son, Kirk (Kim) Ellis; grandchildren, Katelyn and Kaleb Ellis, Peyton (Savannah) Lipe, and Bryson and Rayleigh Dortch; great-grandchildren, Mavyn Lipe, and Jack Hendrix; and siblings, James Ellis of Texas, and Susan Ellis of Nevada.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Scott Casebier officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
