POWDERLY – John Julius Martin, 74, of Powderly, died Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 5:41 a.m. at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville. Born September 3, 1950 in Jefferson County, Ky. He worked for Super Valu and as a mail carrier for the US Postal Service. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. He was preceded in death by Alice Martin, several sisters and one brother; Kegan Arnold, John Martin, and Anna Mae Duvall.
Survivors include his children, Johnny (Miranda Hadley) Martin, Tina (Jimmy) Sapp, and Teresa Chaney; grandchildren, Johnathan Martin, Cole Sapp, Logan (Carrie) Sapp, Bayleigh Chaney, Ryan Chaney, and Chris Chaney; great-grandchildren, Ellie Martin, Noah Chaney, Gracyn Chaney, Camden Sapp, and Kayleigh Cummins; and sister, Jane Casey.
Funeral services will be Sunday, May 18, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Leroy Rearden officiating. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com
