Jewell Ray Everett

GREENVILLE – Jewell Ray Everett, 93, of Greenville, passed away Friday, February, 6, 2026 at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Born in Rosewood, Ky August 7, 1932, the son of the late Leo Everett and Hazel Mae Yonts Everett. During the Korean War, he was drafted into the United States Army, where he proudly served as a medic and was stationed near Washington, D.C. Following his honorable discharge, he worked for International Harvester in Louisville for about a year before returning home to Muhlenberg County. Jewell Ray’s heart was always in farming. He spent his days working the land he loved, raising tobacco, hay, wheat, corn, and beans, along with raising cattle, goats, and hogs. He found simple joy in country life, especially watching the peacocks that roamed the farm. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, and mother of his sons, Leola Johnson Everett,***second wife, Nadine Morris Everett, brother, Bobby Gene Everett, two sisters-in-law, Nelda Everett and Jettia Duvall, and one brother-in-law, William McIntosh.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 11th, at 11:00 AM at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY officiated by Bro. Bill Skipworth assisted by Bro. Curtis McGehee. Burial will follow in Olive Grove Cemetery in Greenville KY with military honors. 

He is survived by three sons—-Joe (Dana) Everett

He was well-loved by all his nieces and nephews from the Everett and Johnson families. 

Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 10th at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and after 9:00 AM until service time on Wednesday February 11th.
