CENTRAL CITY – Jesse James Smith Sr., 57, of Central City, died Monday, November 13, 2023 at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. Born August 3, 1966 in Louisville, he was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Margie Smith; sisters, Judy and Linda; and brothers, Jerry and Michael.
Survivors include his son Jesse James Smith Jr., daughter Ruby Purvis; four grandchildren; brothers, Stevie and Johnny; sisters Wanda, Rita and Tootsie; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Chance.
Funeral services will be Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Todd Cartwright officiating. Burial will follow in Old Bethel Cemetery in Greenville. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 15 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
