BREMEN – Jesse Combs, Sr., 90, of Bremen, died Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at his home. Born November 18, 1929, in Knott County, Ky. He was a retired coal miner and a U.S. Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Bessie Combs; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Maxine Couch Combs; son Jesse (Marietta) Combs, Jr. of Central City; daughters Karen (Chris) Sparks of Greenville; granddaughters Emily (Scott) Bandy of Central City and Megan Sparks of Greenville; brother Truman (Loretta) Combs; and sister Joyce (David Jr.) Hale; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday, October 26, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Cody Crowell officiating, assisted by Bro. Gary Taylor. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday after 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Family and friends who are attending the visitation or funeral service are asked to wear a face mask for the safety of all those in attendance, in accordance with the governor’s mandate.
