POWDERLY – Jerry Carrol Daugherty, 87, of Powderly, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Redbanks Hospice Care in Henderson. Born in McLean County May 22, 1937, to the late J.C. and Emma Daugherty. He was a retired Local 40 Boilermaker and member of New Prospect Baptist Church in Powderly. Jerry loved fishing, taking care of his yard, listening to local Christian radio stations, attending church services and helping friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nelda Faye Daugherty; parents, J.C. and Emma Daugherty; brother, Donald Daugherty; and son Richard Daugherty.
urvivors include his sister, Francis Mulcahy; sister-in-law, Loretta Daugherty; son, Jerrold Daugherty of Copperas Cove, Tex.; step-son, Tony Cessna of Henderson; step-daughter, Patty Bass of Kevil; sons, Tim Daugherty of Louisville, Barry Daugherty of Louisville, Joe Daugherty of Fancy Farm; daughter, Amanda Stricker of Sellersberg, Ind.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
uneral services were held Monday, December 23, 2024 at 12 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Leroy Rearden officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Gardens in Greenville. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
