Jerald Andrew Hardison

Cookeville Tenn. – Jerald Andrew Hardison passed into eternal rest Sunday, July 30, 2023 at his home. Born October 3, 1938 in Morton’s Gap, to H.L. Hardison and Martha Deloriece (Noffsinger) Hardison, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. Jerald was known for his unwavering good nature and supportiveness, his integrity, and hard work.

Jerald dedicated 35 years of his life to Kentucky Utilities as a line foreman, a role he took on with great responsibility and pride. He worked independently in that community as well, always willing to lend a hand and share his skills. His commitment to service extended beyond his professional obligations. He served in the National Guard for six years, earning the rank of Sergeant. He was a respected member of Masonic Lodge 420 in Beaver Dam, where his contributions and camaraderie are fondly remembered.

In 2014, Jerald and Linda moved to Cookeville, Tenn., where they have felt warmly welcomed and embraced by the community. He became an active member of the Cookeville First United Methodist Church, where he enjoyed the Backslider’s Class. His faith was a guiding force in his life, providing him strength and solace in times of need.

Jerald will be remembered for his kind, gentle manner, his steadfastness in friendship and in counsel, and the love he had for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Jimmy and Johnny Hardison, sister Joyce Hardison, and a son, Jerald Lewis Hardison.

Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Linda Kay (Baker) Hardison; their son Brandon Hardison and his wife Stacey of Cookeville; their daughter Andrea Tackett and her husband Brandon of Bellingham, Wash. He was the proud grandfather of Creed and Colton Hardison, who brought immense joy to his life.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to be made to Cookeville First United Methodist Church, 165 E Broad Street, Cookeville, TN 38501.

Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (931)526-6111. Share memories and condolences at www.hhhfunerals.com.
