Jeffrey Ray “J.J.” Jones

CENTRAL CITY – Jeffrey Ray “JJ” Jones, 64, of Central City, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family. Born January 17, 1958, in Greenville, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will forever be in our hearts. He was a coal miner for 43 years, having worked at various mines in Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois. He loved UK basketball, Cincinnati Reds, Dallas Cowboys, old hot rod cars, and riding his Harley. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Ray and Martha Nell Jones; and sister, Cindy Jones.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Debbie Jones; sons, Nathan (Jennifer) Jones of Central City and Josh (Gwen) Jones of Central City; grandsons, Austin Jones and Seth Jones; great-grandson, Caysen Jones; and many family and friends who all have stories and fond memories of him.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 23, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Brian Jones officiating, assisted by Bro. Curtis McGehee. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Jeffrey Jones Memorial Fund, c/o Tucker Funeral Home, P.O. Box 548, Central City, KY 42330. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
