Lexington-Jeffery Lynn Tyler,60, formerly of Central City, Kentucky, died Thursday, June 25, 2026 at Baptist Health in Lexington, KY. He was born, September 29, 1965 in Greenville, KY.
The Muhlenberg County native was a member in good standing at the Gardenside Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky, treasured the membership at the church, and worshipped the Lord lovingly with all his heart, soul, and mind.
His regular employment and hard working ethics was sustained for 25 years at Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky where he was loved by everyone. In earlier years, during the span of his High School years, Jeffery worked at IGA in Central City, Kentucky. Everyone loved for him to bag and take out their groceries since he took great care in doing so.
While visiting California, he cooked for the senior citizens, visited with his Mother-In-Law, Gracie Lou and Father-In-Law, James Swain. During his residence in Lexington, neighbors could call on him for anything. Jeffery thrived on being a people person who never met a stranger, which culminated in acquiring a vast number of friends who loved him. Also, his formalwear included tuxedos and menswear consisted of sharp suits.
Favorite hobbies consisted of buying cars, fixing them up and working on different projects.
Jeffery loved unconditionally, his wife Gidget. His expression of love was exhibited by a steady,unfailing purchase of gifts for every holiday. In addition, Jeffery loved the following family members: Gracie Lou,( mother-in-law ); a beloved friend for over 40 years, Cynthia Buckner. They both would go to Sonic and purchase the Brown Bag Special. He was so happy to see Roy and Doris when they visited as well as Grandchildren; Daughters, Almittie Drake, Zoe Duneghy and Zara Duneghy; Stepson, Zachary Duneghy; Brothers, Roy Tyler and Clarence Parker; Sister, Doris Drake.
During his illness, his world consisted of Praising God and Praying. On his last day of life on earth, Jeffery sat up in bed looking around for the love of his life, his wife, Gidget!
He was preceded in death by both parents, Willie Tyler, Jr. in 1999 and Willie Mae Tyler in 2021.
Survivors include a loving wife, Gidget Tyler, Lexington, Kentucky; 3 daughters, Almittie Drake, Lexington, Kentucky, Zoe Duneghy and Zara Duneghy, both of Owensboro, Kentucky; 1 stepson, Zachary Duneghy, Owensboro, Kentucky; 5 grandchildren, Paris White, Briella Drake, Zarren Duneghy, James Duneghy and Landon Duneghy all of Owensboro, Kentucky; two brothers, Clarence (Linda) Parker, Greenville, Kentucky and Roy Tyler, Owensboro, Kentucky; one sister, Doris Drake, Greenville, Kentucky; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at First Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville, KY on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at 12 Noon with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
Burial will be in West End Cemetery in Greenville, KY. Rev. Otis L. Cunningham, Eulogist.
