GREENVILLE – Jeffery Lee Wilkins, 67, of Greenville, died Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 11:15 a.m. at his home surrounded by his family. Born November 9, 1955, in Muhlenberg County, he was a retired coal miner, and a member of Carter Creek Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Mr. Wilkins was an outdoors man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, going to the lake, and camping. He loved watching sports, farming, and his cows. His passion was spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his father Arch Wilkins; step-father Sharon Edwards; step-mother Dana Wilkins; and step-brother B.J. Westfall.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years Debbie Oates Wilkins; children Amy (Chris) Carver, Justin (Brittany) Wilkins, and Adam Wilkins; grandchildren Jaylee Wilkins, Cody Carver, Allie Carver, and Taylor Wilkins; mother Wanda Edwards; sisters Teresa Puryear, Tracey Kulijof, and Valerie Morris; and brothers David Wilkins, Doug Edwards, and David Edwards.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 13, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Carter Creek Baptist Church in Greenville, with Bro. John Day II officiating. Burial will follow in Carter Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday after 5:00 p.m. at Carter Creek Baptist Church and Monday after 8:00 a.m. at Carter Creek Baptist Church. Tucker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
