CENTRAL CITY – Jasper Shirley “Junnie” Stirsman, age 81, passed away Friday, July 12, 2024, in Madisonville. Born on January 11, 1943, in Muhlenberg County, he is remembered by his loved ones as a dedicated husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a coal miner with the UMWA and deacon at Cherry Hill Baptist Church. Junnie was preceded in death by his parents Jasper and Ida Stirsman, Sr.; brother, Kenneth Dale Stirsman.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Anita Stirsman; daughter Roxann (Andrew) Van Donselaar; son, Josh (Devonne) Stirsman; grandchildren, Erin Elizabeth Amos, (“his donut hole buddy” Isaiah Stirsman), Andrew (Katelynn) Van Donselaar, Michael Van Donselaar; great-grandchildren Cora Rae and Wren Van Donselaar.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Leroy Rearden officiating and assisted by Bro. Bobby Allen.
